China PMI

China’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) is a monthly indicator showing whether factory activity in China is improving or weakening. It is calculated from surveys of more than 700 factories across the country on changes in orders, production, inventories, and employment, and summarized into a single figure. A reading above 50 signals expansion, below 50 signals slowdown, and a result higher than market expectations is generally viewed as a positive sign for China’s economy and the yuan.

Source: SMM
