CFTC WTI Futures Positions (Speculative)
The Non-Commercials (Long/Short) chart shows the size of buy (long) and sell (short) positions held by big players who trade mainly for investment. If longs increase, it generally means more traders expect prices to rise; if shorts increase, it generally means more traders expect prices to fall.
CFTC WTI Futures Positions (Commercial)
The Managed Money (Long/Short) chart focuses only on professional managers such as funds/hedge funds within those big players. It helps you see more clearly whether the “core money” moving the market is leaning bullish (more longs) or bearish (more shorts).
U.S. and OPEC+ Crude Oil Production (EIA)
OPEC is a group of major oil-producing and exporting countries, and OPEC+ is a larger alliance that adds non-OPEC producers such as Russia to coordinate production together; changes in the output of these two groups can strongly affect global oil supply and price trends.

U.S. WTI Price and Cushing Storage
Cushing inventories are the amount of crude oil stored in Cushing, Oklahoma, a key delivery hub where WTI crude oil futures can be physically delivered. So if Cushing inventories rise (more oil is piling up at the hub), the WTI market is often seen as relatively more supplied, while a decline is often interpreted as a tighter situation around the delivery point.
