Calculating from this page’s data…
  • This 0–100 score summarizes selected inputs relative to their own history. Higher values indicate more upward pressure. Input composition differs by commodity; some scores use inventories only.
  • Coverage is the available share of configured input weights, not prediction accuracy. Below 60%, the current score is not shown. Price is for comparison, not an index input.
  • History is recalculated using the latest published data, not the exact information known at each past date. This is a descriptive indicator, not a validated or guaranteed price forecast.

Pipeline selection and limitations

Selected using official descriptions of links between producing areas, large demand markets, LNG exports and cross-border supply. This is not a national volume ranking or an exhaustive list of major pipelines.

Lines are historical location references. Changes after 2020, current operation, outages, flows and disaster damage are not assessed.

Function evidence checked: 2026-09-11 · Evidence review due: 2026-12-10

Operator descriptions support transport functions, not current operation or disaster safety. Proximity on this map does not prove a physical facility connection.

Important examples not mapped

These pipelines also matter, but the source, date and reuse terms of their route geometry have not been verified for this display. No routes are invented. This is not a complete list of omissions.

How to read this map
  • LNG is natural gas cooled to liquid for transport. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports Bcf/d, billion cubic feet per day. Baseload nameplate capacity is a design value, not actual throughput. Commercial and commissioning capacities are separate; construction capacity is excluded.WTI is a US crude price benchmark. These US production regions do not define which crude is eligible for WTI delivery.EIA is the US Energy Information Administration; GNIS is the US Geological Survey’s geographic names registry. MMcf means million cubic feet; Bcf/d means billion cubic feet per day. Monthly reported volume ÷ days in that month gives the daily average, not live flow or capacity. Four points per direction are selected by the sum of reported volumes over 12 months; missing reports are not zero. A border-point total is not an individual pipeline’s flow, and map proximity does not prove damage or a price effect.
  • The US National Hurricane Center (NHC) dashed line forecasts the storm center, not the area affected by wind or rain.Arrows show trade direction at representative border towns, not pipeline alignments or meter locations.
  • Regional dots are not individual wells or complete production boundaries. Proximity does not estimate outages or damage probability.Trade volumes and notices are reviewed snapshots, separate from automatic weather updates.

WTI Term Structure Prices (13M)

  • A futures curve compares prices for contracts with different delivery months at the same point in time. It reflects current market pricing and carrying conditions, not a guaranteed forecast of future spot prices.
  • An upward line means the reported price increased over that interval. It does not show whether the price is high or low relative to supply and demand, or predict the next move.
  • Use this indicator together with supply, demand and broader economic conditions. One chart alone cannot reliably predict the next price move.

CFTC WTI Futures Positions (Speculative)

  • CFTC (U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission) is the U.S. regulator that publishes futures-market trader-position data.
  • The Non-Commercials (Long/Short) chart shows the size of buy (long) and sell (short) positions held by big players who trade mainly for investment. If longs increase, it generally means more traders expect prices to rise; if shorts increase, it generally means more traders expect prices to fall.
  • Use this indicator together with supply, demand and broader economic conditions. One chart alone cannot reliably predict the next price move.

CFTC WTI Futures Positions (Commercial)

  • CFTC (U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission) is the U.S. regulator that publishes futures-market trader-position data.
  • The Commercials (Long/Short) chart shows the size of long and short positions held mainly by producers, merchants, processors, users, and other commercial participants that use futures to hedge business-related price risk. More commercial longs generally indicate increased hedging against rising prices, while more commercial shorts generally indicate increased hedging against falling prices or future selling-price risk.
  • Use this indicator together with supply, demand and broader economic conditions. One chart alone cannot reliably predict the next price move.

U.S. Production (Weekly)
  • EIA (U.S. Energy Information Administration) is the public or international system that publishes energy, nuclear or climate data used in this chart.
  • OPEC is a group of major oil-producing and exporting countries, and OPEC+ is a larger alliance that adds non-OPEC producers such as Russia to coordinate production together. Changes in the output of these two groups can strongly affect global oil supply and price trends.

  • An economic index combines or standardizes data so changes can be compared over time. Its meaning depends on the base period and construction method, so levels from different indexes are not directly comparable.

U.S. WTI Price and Cushing Storage

  • EIA (U.S. Energy Information Administration) is the public or international system that publishes energy, nuclear or climate data used in this chart.
  • Cushing inventories are the amount of crude oil stored in Cushing, Oklahoma, a key delivery hub where WTI crude oil futures can be physically delivered. So if Cushing inventories rise (more oil is piling up at the hub), the WTI market is often seen as relatively more supplied, while a decline is often interpreted as a tighter situation around the delivery point.
